Use the following sites to locate information on people.
Unless noted,make sure to use quotation marks surrounding the person's name (e.g. "Jim Anderson").

People Locator
411.com
Like the phone directory, 411.com lets you search for telephone and address information. Search by name, address, or there is even a reverse phone directory.
 
Zaba
Enter a name and choose a state. Unfortunately, ZabaSearch is filled with links to sites where you have to pay for information. However, they do offer some nice features not found through other sites, including date-of-birth information, direct links to Google search results, and even unlisted phone numbers.
 
Tweepz
Find out who has a Twitter account at the company you're interested in. Make sure to use the Advanced Search and follow the corresponding instructions (e.g. bio:(general mills) is how you search someone at General Mills who includes the company name in their Twitter biography).
Personal Biographies
LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a free site, although registration is required. Create a profile page and then invite others into your network. When someone joins your network, you can "connect" with those in their network. Build your network and over time, you'll be able to search for and connect with people at millions, of organizations.
 
Pipl
Pipl is designed to retrieve information from the "Deep Web" to extract facts, contact details and other relevant information from personal profiles, member directories, blogs, social networks, scientific publications, court records and numerous other deep-web sources.
 
Spokeo
Enter the name of a person and their city/state if you know it. Review people by hovering over the people icons on the map, and then make a selection. Read about his/her personal attributes, home, lifestyle activities, astrological sign, community information, and more.
 

ZoomInfo
Choose the "Person Search" and then "People Name" tabs. Enter a person's name and find biographical information about the person that has appeared on the Web. If the person you want has a common name, enter additional information like where they work (e.g. "Joe Smith" at "Widget Corporation").

 
Whoozy
Enter a person’s name in the main search form. Click the various main navigation tabs to see results from social network sites, search engines, and in the “Personal” area, documents, personal facts, and more.
Click on a tag word to refine your results to only sites where both the person and the tag word appear.
 
Yasni
Enter a person’s name in the main search form. Click the various main navigation tabs to see results from different types of sites. Locate the “Tags” section to see words that are prominent on Web sites where your selected person also appears. Click on a tag word to refine your results.
Employee Directories
Jigsaw
You can earn points by submitting valid contacts from your business card collection (you can automatically upload from contact programs like Outlook). Search for companies, and with your points, you can "buy" valid contact information on the available job titles. Free registration required.
 
Spoke
Spoke helps you find employees at millions of companies worldwide. Become a Spoke member (it's free) and when you login, use the Find People/Companies search. Enter a company name, and Spoke will list employees and executives it has found mentioned on the Web.
People News Search
All Business
Search for articles and press releases featuring a person's name. For best results, enter a name within quotation marks (e.g. "edward jones").
 
BizJournals Article Search
Search for people in the news in more than 40 major markets.
 
Blog Search
Use the Google Advanced Blog search to see if a person you're interested has been mentioned in a blog, and/or contributes their opinions to blog postings.
 
Mool - News Search
Use Mool to locate current and some archived news stories on people. Instead of searching billions of Web sites, Mool limits its search to about 4,500 key news sources.
 
NewsLink Local Newspapers
See if the person you're interested in has been written about in their local newspaper. First choose your state and then locate a newspaper. Once on the newspaper's Web site, look for a search form or "Archive" link, usually on the top or left side. Enter a person's name in the search engine to see if there is an article.
 
Samepoint Social Media Search
Enter an executive's name and this meta-search engine will show you blog posts, recent news, and more. You can even find employee names and titles who are on LinkedIn and other social networks without being connected to them (enter a company name in the search field and click the B2B Networks link).
 
Twitter Search
Twitter is instant communication with millions of users. You'll sometimes find that your contact is being talked about online or even has his/her own Twitter account. Enter the person's name within quotation marks or us @ followed by their name (e.g. @samrichter) to see what's being said, or what they're saying.

Criminal Search
Find out if a person has been convicted of a crime. Also includes traffic violations.

 
Demographics - CensusScope
Click the Maps tab and easily create demographic charts. On the lower-left side, choose a country or metro area. The rankings tab allows you to select a variable and get a state or county rank.
 
Demographics - FactFinder
Enter the name of a city and choose a state using the FactFinder search form, located on the main page. On the results page, click on the "Narrative Profile" for a more detailed data analysis with graphs.
 
Executive Compensation
Enter the name of an executive at a publicly held company and the SEC form(s) where the executive's name is found will appear. Search the forms for everything from compensation to stock options grants.
 
Golf Handicap
Find out if a business associate is a golfer, what their handicap is, and what courses they play via the United States Golf Association's Golf Handicap and Information Network. Scroll down to enter by name.
 
Home Values - Zillow
Search for residential real estate records by address.  Find out the value of a home, recent sales, tax records, comparables, neighborhood information, and more.  Plus many of the homes feature exceptional photographs.  The site is helpful to determine an individuals worth and lifestyle.  Free registration required.
 
Political Contributions - Open Secrets
Find out someone's political leanings by seeing where and to whom they donate. Enter a person's name and choose an election cycle. Try searching with company names as well.
 
Psychographic Reports - You Are Where You Live
Enter a 5-digit ZIP Code to find the top lifestyle groups for that neighborhood. Clusters describe segments of the population by predominant demographic and lifestyle features. You may need to first click the Zip Code Look-Up tab at the top of page.
